About
The Festival
Those who have been to the festival before will realize that not only
has the number of partrons grown but every year the frolic staff works
hard to plan and create a great festival that will be hard for one to
forget. Festival organizers hope that the festival will bring
diversity, community awareness, a sense of family, a re-learning of how
to live life in a green way, and holistic knowledge to the Poconos and
surrounding areas.
The Fall Frolic is organized by the Sacred Crossroads Association.
What should I bring to the festival?
-
A positive
attitude and respect is a good thing to take with you everywhere.
-
Food for
Pizza Potluck to share on Friday Night
-
Drums or other
percussion instruments
-
Toiletries such as:
soap, toothpaste, shampoo, hairbrush, ect. Shower shoes or flip flops
if you have them. There are hot showers in the shower house and in some
of the cabins as well. Each cabin also has indoor plumbing and
bathrooms as well as electricity.
-
Prescription
Medications
and
any
other
medicines you need to take (allergy meds, Tylenol, Advil, and so forth)
-
Clothing
for all occasions - PA weather is unpredictable, it might be really
warm during the day and drop to the 20's-40's at night. Pack for the
possibility of rain since this is an all weather event. Pack extra
sweatshirts and wear layers whenever possible. Include some lighter
clothes in case it is hot during the day.
-
Comfortable
shoes,
and
a
change
of shoes in case they get wet from the morning dew.
-
Ritual
Garb, if you have it and would like to wear it but it is not necessary
to participate in the ritual.
-
If
you have a BATTERY-POWERED PORTABLE CAMP HEATER, you may use it for
nighttime in the cabins if it gets cold.
NOTE: if you bring an ELECTRIC HEATER, YOU WILL BE CHARGED AN EXTRA $50
BY STAFF PER HEATER IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE PER CABIN! Breakers will
pop and we aren't going to fix them repeadtly if you aren't using the
electric responsibly.
-
Food
is available at the lodge, sold by Cafe Frolic at reasonable prices. If
you choose to cook your own meals, there are several fire rings
available near the cabin areas which you may bring charcoal to use in
these. Otherwise, you may bring a portable propane-powered camp stove
to use, but ALL COOKING MUST BE DONE OUTDOORS. (Not in cabins or Main
Lodge).
-
If
you wish to bring a donation of an auction item to benifit our charity
please do so. Our charity auction will be taking place on Saturday
evening following the feast. New, used or Humorous items are all
welcome.
-
Bring
Plenty of $$$ for spending at the Vendors Marketplace, there you will
find many handcrafted and exotic goodies. There will also be music and
other items available from our musical guests for purchase.
-
If
you are bringing a pet, make sure you bring all food and cleaning
supplies you will need, as well as a leash and restraint (chain,
tie-out stake, cage, dog purse) as your pet will have to be under your
control and contained at all times. Please do not bring animals that
aren't child friendly or don't get along well with other pets or you
will be asked to pay for damages and then to leave.
